Another Blog.. Cuz im a procrastinator

The history monologues wwas a battle that I never fought before. I always found myself to be more of a contemporary actor. But I learned quite a bit.. I still consider myself more of a contemporary actor but i found it interesting and definitely something new. I will probably love to explore that again.

What i learned from this was style, costuming and how and what you were effects both your style and the way you do your monologues. Style is very important because you dont know how or what will effect your movement unless you do your research also costumes are very important once you get the initial research done. Style is also very important because it makes it feel more real to you and if it feels more real to you, you will be able to convey a real piece to your audience whoever it may be. Same thing applies to costume. If you have a period piece with a modern piece you loose the illusion.
What I will ocntinue to do in future to do more research and wrok on trying to do more styling pieces. But the most i will continue to work on my research. In this piece i did a lot of reseacrh and really did an analysis that way i could get the language the way they interacted with other people and all sorts of different things. I really mean is i need to do more of an in depth analysis.

Im' so behind

Hello All,
For those who didn't know. I had a theatrical internship this semester at a high school because my major is theatre education. After this internship I've learned that this is where my heart is i love it so so much. It isn't easy being a drama teacher no sir. Especially at the high school level because sometimes you are the only one to do everything where as in community theatre you have a whole production staff. In High schools depending on your sh cool you do it alll Produce build your set, cast your your show, deal with admin and so much more. Its hard work. All you can really rely on is your students. That is not true for all students. Some work hard and have their hearts in the right place and some don't.

So the way it worked. My week consisted of 6 hrs of classroom work and 6 hrs of rehearsal work. I spent many mmore hours their than that. It is very hard not to stay. I felt like days that i was not their i missed so so much. Also during tech week I had to be there becaiuse i work so hard and so long how could i not go and support them.

The Internship was a lot of fun and it really showed me the path to my future. My heart and soul went to this internship and too all the kids IM going to miss them so so much. This weekend is there final performance of their musical and my last time with them.

Blog # 3

What did you gain through this scene development process? What will you continue to incorporate in the next scene? What will you do differently? Comment on what you gained through watching your peers?


There are many things i learned working with a person who was not as out going with as me. I l learned that though he was quieter had a different style of developing and doing characterization . Thats important because working with other people it really helps you grow.. You learn new techniques and other ways to function.
One thing I will continue to incorporate in al my scenes is breaking them down into french scenes. I learned that it helped me memorize better and really helped me built to an emotional build, or help me with the steps to it. I wish just had more time i feel that me and masood's didn't have enought time to put more emotion.. But that is typical you always want more rehearsal. I feel that with more rehearsal we could have had a much better scene. I thought our idea was creative but if we would have had mroe time we could have had a really well scene.

Some new things i learned form watching other scenes is that even if you give everyone the same script yo see so many different interpertations and I thought that was awesome. I love how everyone made a choice and pretty much stuck to it.. I know everyone took a risk just like we did and it really showed that the hard work everyone put in it really helped and made there scenes different.
